Here at Austin Petit Bilingual Preschool we teach a small mixed age group of children.  We are an in home center with a low stress family like environment.  This is especially good for children who are not able to adjust to the larger groups found in large daycare centers. Our small size  has a calming effect and encourages the timid child to bond with his /her teachers and the  other children.  We do not have the " teacher turnover" problems associated with the large daycare centers.   

At Austin Petit Bilingual Preschool we focus on high quality childcare.  We believe that high quality childcare is crucial in early childhood.  It encourages healthy, social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.  Studies prove that young children who receive high quality childcare thrive in kindergarten and elementary school. 

We teach a bilingual curriculum. The children will be immersed in the French and English languages.  We read books, tell stories and play games with the children in French and English. We offer many hands on activities such as arts and crafts using a variety of mediums.  We teach cooking classes with genuine French recipes included.  We play music from around the world and encourage the children to move in rhythm to the music.  We sing happy songs with the children.  We teach Bible stories and verses to the children in French and English with the use of visual aids such as felt boards and felts, pictures, and memory devices. Studies show that children who learn a second language during early childhood achieve higher proficiency and speak the second language without an accent. With the world fast becoming a global community it will be to the advantage of your child to be proficient in more than one language.
